plenty of space for all your friends, in an Independent farmhouse immersed among the Sangiovese vineyards!
That’s the ideal solution to spend this end of the year in the Lands of Pisa in a large house, with three apartments on two levels and equipped with all comforts. On the ground floor, the two apartments La Stalla and La Mangiatoia, adjacent but not communicating, and on the first floor the Il Poggetto apartment with a large kitchen with fireplace, ready to host the whole group!
An ideal position to visit all the main cities of art (Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Siena) to visit our villages (Peccioli, Lajatico, Chianni) and our wineries, or the perfect base to participate in one of the numerous local events.
Do you prefer a home New Year’s Eve instead? Do you need suggestion for a special menu to cook together in the large kitchen of the Poggetto apartment? We provide to our guests, a small book of Tuscan recipes, based on local ingredients, including 0km game, to celebrate with one of our wines, strictly in magnum size!
NEWS FROM THE VINEYARD
One of the happiest grape harvests ever.
Started at the end of a hot and dry summer, as usual.
Interrupted by light but continuous rains which slowed down ripening and harvesting.
In the end, we brought the last grape to the cellar on October 7, after 37 days of anxieties and worries.
Satisfaction for such a large quantity, and for a quality that only in minimal part was affected by downy mildew infections which, if in 2023 have distroyed 90% of our production, in 2024, despite the constant humidity, affected only a residual portion of one single vineyard.
Sangiovese will be the grape of this 2024.
We can’t say yet, fermentations are still underway.
We have collected bunches of Sangiovese from all our 5 terroirs, vinified in separate tanks, with approximately 15 days difference between the first harvest on fossiliferous clays and the last harvest on alluvial silts.
A Chianti Superiore and a Chianti Riserva will be bottled, perhaps a Selezione Vigna, and certainly a Sangiovese Terre di Pisa.
