Aprilante IGT Tuscany Vermentino
Terzo Aprilante quaranta di’ durante. It was April the 3rd when we bottled Aprilante for the first time, in 2004.
Needless to say, the name tells all.
100% Vermentino, from a single vineyard facing Northwest that catches the last rays of sun on the sandy-clayey soils at the bottom of the valley.
This is a vineyard very sensitive to sea breezes and morning frost, where vermentino grows in large, juicy bunches that require special care and attention with strategic canopy management to control the vigor of the soil.
In 2013 we stopped using selected yeasts and now rely on indigenous yeasts to enhance the savory minerality that has always distinguished our vermentino.
