Description
100% Trebbiano. Historically a basic variety used as blend with other red grapes to produce Chianti wine. Such an unusual taste then, as a single varietal wine, and even more so when 1/3 of grapes have been harvested late in the season, at the end of the Sangiovese harvest.
The Tribiana borns from grapes of three different Chianti vineyards, where white grapes of Trebbiano were fully present in the mix, but its stirits originates from several tastings between Burgundy and Provence. Uncertain of whether or not to uproot those old vines in order to plant Sangiovese, we chose the hardest path and looked for the traditional white wines from the Lands of Pisa. Invested our passion and creativity in producing a “lost” white wine where today, lands are devoted to Sangiovese and Merlot.
Fermented in French oak barrels, sur lies, Tribiana expresses a mellow honey taste with a supple and mineral finish, enhanched by the bottle age.
It’s a very limited production (no more than 2.000 numbered bott/year), usually bottled in early spring, but left ageing in the cellar till Christmas.
